We are currently looking for a Global Product Manager â Protective Coatings Platform to join us at one of our facilities in Wellingborough (UK). We are seeking a strategic and commercially minded Global Product Manager to shape and execute the global product roadmap for the protective coatings platform within Axaltaâs Automotive Refinish business. This individual will play a pivotal role in defining, developing, and launching products that align with customer needs and the companyâs growth strategy. The role will focus mainly on the development of RAPTOR products and will work closely with Technology and Segment Marketing across all global markets to deliver a plan that drives growth and strengthens our competitive position worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the global product strategy and roadmap for the Protective Coatings platform, ensuring strong alignment with commercial growth priorities.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights to drive innovation, new product development, and portfolio expansion.
- Lead crossâfunctional product development from concept to launch, working closely with R&D, Segment Marketing, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.
- Drive new product launches using the StageâGate process, ensuring timely execution and strong market readiness.
- Develop and champion compelling value propositions, business cases, and pricing strategies for new and existing products.
- Manage the global product portfolio, including formulation architecture, competitive benchmarking, product simplification, and costâoptimization initiatives.
- Ensure full regulatory compliance across global markets in close collaboration with Regulatory and Compliance teams.
- Monitor product quality and performance, leading crossâfunctional action plans to resolve issues and continuously improve customer satisfaction.
Key Requirements
- 5â10 years of experience in Product Management / Product Leadership, ideally in coatings, chemicals, or the automotive aftermarket (B2B and/or B2C).
- Proven ability to build and execute global product roadmaps delivering profitable growth.
- Strong commercial mindset with experience in business case development and product launches.
- Solid understanding of technical products and complex portfolios.
- Experience working in global, matrixed organizations and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strategic, resultsâdriven, and innovative, with strong project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Comfortable managing complex, highly technical initiatives with accuracy and ownership.
