We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our insurance department, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of policies. You will lead a team of insurance professionals, drive process improvements, and contribute to the overall success of the company. Whilst role will be predominantly based in Ipswich however regular trips to the London office will be required.

What you’ll be doing

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Provide support and guidance on professional development, career growth and decision-making.
  • Delegate tasks and projects that align with the teams skills and interests
  • Have ultimate responsibility for all of the team supporting the Retail, LWS Property & Casualty lines of business
  • Set the goals and be accountable for the overall success of the team
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and address employee concerns.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Oversee all aspects of Operations for the lines of business across all platforms and systems.
  • Work with the Operational Processes Manager on developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy. Continuously identify process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Leverage technology and automation to improve productivity and reduce costs
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by providing timely and effective customer service.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders but especially within Underwriting.
  • Provide management reporting when requested e.g for QR’s,
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews on tasks performed to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and regulatory changes.

What you’ll bring

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel (advanced skills required), Word, PowerPoint, Project.
  • Experience with data analysis tools: Power BI
  • Organisational & Time Management: Highly organized with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and solve complex problems creatively and efficiently.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability & Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Initiative & Proactiveness: A proactive and self-motivated individual who takes initiative and seeks opportunities for improvement.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
