The successful candidate will be a key member of the actuarial reserving function and will report directly to the Head of Management Reporting Corporate Actuarial. As a Reserving Actuary, you will play a key role in our team, contributing to the strategic decision‐making process and ensuring the financial stability and solvency of our organisation. You will provide clear, concise, and insightful reporting to management, enabling informed decisions.
Responsibilities
- Review, challenge, consolidate and govern IFRS4 and IFRS17 reserves during valuation, booking, forecast and planning exercises for the AXA XL division, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Contribute to preparation of supporting documents for top management of AXA XL, influencing strategic decision‐making, including:
- MRCR (Management Review Committee on Reserves) for valuations and bookings, including minutes.
- Financial clearance with AXA Group (actuarial section).
- Flash presentation to AXA Group Actuarial function, in collaboration with AXA XL Risk Management team.
- Planning presentations: base loss ratio and budget loss ratio.
- Board/ audit committee presentation.
- Presentation on reserves for Bermudian regulator.
- Presentation on reserves for rating agencies.
Qualifications
- Qualified actuary by a recognised actuarial association with significant experience and a robust background in reserving.
- Robust analytical and problem‐solving skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
- Ability to multi‐task and work effectively in a fast‐paced team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation skills.
- Effective project management and leadership capabilities.
- Outstanding computer application skills, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
Desired Skills and Abilities
- Attention to detail to ensure full consistency of results within various presentations.
- Working knowledge of actuarial reserving software such as ResQ, SQL, and visualisation tools such as PowerBI.
