Our team responsibilities include:

  • Delivering portfolio, segment and divisional risk aggregations and risk reporting.
  • Facilitating reviews of portfolio PMLs, risk drivers and concentrations.

You will work as part of a global team responsible for Cat risk management across AXA XL, supporting legal entity reporting, senior stakeholder insight, internal modelling standards and regulatory deliverables. This 12-month role offers the opportunity to influence how AXA XL understands, manages and reports Cat risk across a global portfolio, supporting senior decision-making, regulatory confidence and portfolio steering.

What you’ll be doing

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Lead the development and enhancement of the DFA model used to evaluate Cat risk across AXA XL.
  • Drive the development and ongoing maintenance of AXA XL’s Cat risk appetite framework, ensuring robust reporting, clear governance and active monitoring against agreed risk appetites.
  • Own the delivery of quarterly Cat risk reporting for AXA XL and its legal entities, providing clear, value-added insight into the evolving portfolio and key risk drivers.
  • Lead the annual risk budget process for future-year Cat exposure, supporting informed portfolio planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with the Ceded Reinsurance team to analyse and optimise the natural catastrophe ceded programme against the planned risk profile.
  • Play a key role in Cat event response activities, developing timely loss estimates and insight against AXA XL’s underwriting portfolio.
  • Deliver Cat risk regulatory requirements, including model analysis and exposure reporting for established regulatory returns as well as ad hoc requests.
  • Work closely with AXA Group to ensure relevant Group requirements are understood, embedded and delivered effectively.
  • Prepare and present clear, actionable Cat risk insight to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships across AXA XL, AXA Group and the wider market to enhance understanding of Cat risk and emerging risk trends.
  • Champion Cat risk awareness across the organisation, helping embed risk-informed thinking into business planning and decision-making.

You will report to the Head of Reporting and Casualty and Cyber Risk Management.

  • Highly organised, detail-focused and able to manage priorities under time pressure.

Desired Skills and Abilities:
