Department Description: The Operational Due Diligence Intern will work within the Operational Due Diligence team, reporting to the Head of Operational Due Diligence. The role focuses on initial AML screening for investments within the AXA Prime platform and supports ongoing monitoring activities for existing managers. The Intern will assist with broader ODD initiatives and gain exposure to hedge funds, private equity, private debt, and infrastructure strategies through external managers.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct AML/CTF due diligence of manager and fund, including:
- Identification of Manager and Fund UBO or, if unavailable, the SMO
- WorldCheck screening of manager and fund entities, including UBO/SMO
- Assigning AML risk ratings based on the Compliance Matrix
- Preparing AML reports and submitting data to global AML screening programs
- Media monitoring and escalation of negative news to the Head of ODD and Front Office Team
- Distribution and review of manager annual ODD questionnaire
- Annual monitoring reviews with invested managers to ensure risk profile has not changed
- Review of the fund’s most recent audited financial statement
- Preparing written updated operational due diligence reports for Investment Committee
- Assisting team members during manager due diligence meetings, note-taking and follow-up
- Maintaining and updating the CeNTRL ODD system to keep data current
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as required
Qualifications:
- Education Skills & Experience: Studying at university with a 4-year degree, ideally with a specialization in Finance, Economics, Management or Business; 3rd year work placement included
- Technical Skills:
- Excellent organisational skills, time management and attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Analytical ability
- Effective communication (verbal, written & presentational)
- Creative thinking with ability to develop innovative solutions
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus
