Trainee Tester Location: UNITED KINGDOM Department: Insurance (P&C, L&S, Health) Closing Date: Friday, August 15, 2025 About the role Were recruiting a Trainee Tester to join our IT department! Reporting to the Test Team leader, you will work within an application team comprised of developers and testers to deliver high quality software solutions for the AXA Ireland business. This is an excellent 12 month secondment opportunity to further develop your skills and experience working within the AXA Ireland IT team. This recruitment campaign will be used to fill further roles, extensions and/or permanency for similar roles. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. We operate a smart working hybrid model, with a requirement to work away from home for a minimum 40% of your week, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events, moving to majority of your working week from September 2025. The main responsibilities will involve: Preparation of test data and execution of test cases Review of requirements and design test cases based on same Bug detection, investigation, detailed and accurate documentation and test evidence, tracking and retest Close interaction with development team to ensure timely resolution of bugs Estimation of work effort Utilise testing and automated test tools to meet test requirements Reports test results and escalates to Test Lead Complete testing of IT projects, including product development and pricing changes Participate in the testing of projects deployment to the live environment About the person Minimum 2 years experience in a general insurance industry (essential) Minimum 1 years of testing experience (desirable) Experience of working on mainframe (desirable) Ability to manipulate data using Microsoft Excel Meticulous attention to detail Flexibility to work on multiple project simultaneously Troubleshooting and logical analysis capabilities Strong drive to achieve results Enthusiastic with a high level of self-drive and energy Self-motivated and results oriented Strong oral and written communication skills What we offer We acknowledge and appreciate the exceptional efforts of our people in protecting what matters most to our customers.
