Are you an ambitious doctor looking to build a career and make a difference in private healthcare? We’ve developed a brand-new position in AXA Health’s Commercial team which could be of interest to you. Working closely with our Medical Director, you’ll be responsible for performance of medical, healthcare and operational activities at AXA Health. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You’ll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop, implement and continuously optimise medical policies for healthcare funding, ensuring they align with regulatory requirements and best practice.
- Ensure effectiveness and responsiveness of medical policies.
- Make improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
- Offer expert technical support to AXA Health Claims teams, including development of guidance, technical rules, best practice and relevant technology.
- Conduct annual and bi-annual reviews of policy terms and conditions.
- Resolve medical and policy queries and escalations from various teams.
- Address medical aspects of legal inquiries and complaints related to policy terms and conditions.
- Be a point of contact for healthcare providers and other key ecosystem stakeholders regarding eligibility of treatments, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of queries.
- Confirm underwriting practices are efficient, compliant, and aligned with AXA Health’s risk management strategies.
- Facilitate training for employees to enhance their understanding of medical policies, claims management processes, and regulatory changes, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring:
- Medical qualification with demonstrable clinical experience.
- Understanding and experience of supporting healthcare operations.
- Appropriate level of leadership experience, including clinical governance, performance, and risk management.
- Experience in conducting audits and reporting on data quality.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to guide and support analysts to design, deliver, and interpret complex data sets.
- Expertise in leading and managing multi-disciplined teams and projects.
- Ability to convey technical information to clinical and non-clinical audiences.
- Relationship management and networking skills.
- Strong motivator with a track record of driving change across boundaries and ability to inspire others.
- Awareness of the regulatory and compliance environment affecting both our processes and people.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom. This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
