Job overview
We’re seeking a strategic and analytical Trading and Reporting Manager to join the team in AXA Health to execute and monitor performance against our Distribution strategy. You’ll provide crucial oversight of our trading activities, from portfolio management and planning to performance tracking. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll provide insightful analysis and reporting that drives key business decisions, ensuring we meet our ambitious growth and financial targets.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with Directors to define, implement and refine trading strategies aligned with AXA Health’s growth objectives.
- Lead strategic planning, phasing and reforecasting processes throughout the year.
- Oversee the trading portfolio, monitoring key initiatives and tracking performance against targets.
- Optimise trading opportunities and resource allocation through performance management.
- Manage and improve the Distribution Dashboard, producing regular performance reports and variance analyses.
- Lead budgeting and expense management, working with Finance and cost centre owners to monitor performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure all activities are delivered within budget, including managing specific savings initiatives.
- Act as a key stakeholder interface, presenting trading and financial metrics to senior leadership to inform decision-making.
Work arrangements
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.
Your skills & experience
- A strong foundation in mathematics, demonstrated by an A-level in Maths or a degree in a numerate discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Business Administration).
- Experience in trading management, portfolio management and strategic planning, ideally within a relevant industry.
- Analytical, financial and reporting skills, with high proficiency in data analysis and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint and financial systems such as Anaplan.
- Effective stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and communicate complex information clearly to senior leaders.
- A self-motivated and energetic team player with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and work well under pressure.
- Strong commercial acumen combined with analytical expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to apply strategic thinking and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom. This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every four years with an annual declaration in interim years.
