The Ceded Reinsurance department at AXA XL plays a crucial role in defining and implementing reinsurance strategy and overseeing the administration of reinsurance treaties throughout their lifecycle. As part of the AXA XL Risk Management function, the Ceded Re team is under the leadership of the AXA XL Chief Risk Officer.

Retrocession Operations team is responsible for the administration of all Retrocession covers placed within AXA XL Re. Retro Ceded Re Operations is composed of both Technical Operations and Technical Accounting.

What you’ll be doing

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Provide support and assistance to the Technical Operations team with daily activities.
  • Contribute to billing process and BDX management monitoring;
  • Regulatory and Operational reporting – production and submission of operational regulatory reporting.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Technical Accounting team when required.
  • Daily interaction with the teams based in India;
  • Escalation at various levels to ensure closure of open items;
  • Perform reconciliation between Destiny (operating tool) and Financial Data Mart (FDM);
  • Interact with Ceded Re Insurance Segment team;
  • Internal Control – Ensure that processes and controls are complied with in accordance with our internal control framework.
  • Support Audit (internal/external) requests.

This role will also support below BAU activities:

  • ARAP backlog clearance project
  • Ceded XOL Risks claims reporting
  • Bermuda reporting
  • Review quarterly Ceded Reserve Analysis prepared by Actuarial Department

You will report to Retrocession Senior Technical Operations Specialist.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • Graduate / Post Graduate with a few years of experience within Re/insurance industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal stakeholders, brokers and reinsurers
  • Positive, innovative and make it better mindset to bring operational efficiencies
  • Experience in MS-Excel and PowerPoint is required – support segment KPI and management reporting
  • Self-starter who is solution orientated and has the ability to work within a team environment
  • Organized with the ability to sort multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and detail orientated
  • Ability to use initiative in day to day activities to resolve issues or flag to management for review
