We're currently seeking an experienced Tribe Lead to lead on our Medical Claims and Care Provision, having overarching accountability to drive the strategic direction of our product offerings. As a Tribe Lead, you'll play a pivotal senior leadership role in shaping the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for your entire Tribe. You'll lead the definition, planning and orchestration of value delivery across multiple products, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends.
Your leadership will be essential in navigating cross-product dependencies, optimising resource allocation, and implementing robust processes for effective delivery. You'll be focused on execution and delivery as well as a strategic future thinker looking at product and customer trends.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We're also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
Please note this role is contractually based from the AXA office in Tunbridge Wells, however there is the opportunity to work from other AXA offices, including from our London office.
What you'll be doing:
- Define and execute the interim and long-term product strategy for the Tribe, translating vision into actionable roadmaps.
- Lead, manage and collaborate closely with Product Managers and Product Owners to prioritize activities and ensure alignment between product strategies.
- Facilitate product planning sessions, driving collaboration and removing impediments to achieve strategic product outcomes utilising modern delivery methodologies, agile ways of working etc.
- Set and track Tribe objectives and key results (OKRs), measuring product performance to deliver exceptional customer and business outcomes.
- Engage with Executive stakeholders across Product and Business teams to ensure compliance and resolve escalated issues effectively.
- Lead cross-team improvement sessions to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and value delivery.
- Ensure alignment of individual tribe strategies to the end to end business architecture, customer experience and value realisation working alongside other tribe leads.
- Bring robust and creative thinking to the product strategy, working with sponsors and challenging perceived norms, current thinking and ensuring we work toward customer value and end to end business transformation.
- Work across multiple domains of product, CX/UX, business analysis, change management, project management, Data, AI, technology.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within product management, this must be in a healthcare/insurance environment with in depth experience of medical claim knowledge.
- Demonstrable experience of agile methodologies and experience implementing them effectively in product teams.
- Very strong understanding of product management and leadership alongside a very strong understanding of Agile and the latest technology capabilities and trends, in particular with Data and AI.
- Demonstrable ability to create and execute a strategic roadmap, balancing past performance with customer expectations and market insights, and stakeholder expectations.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of driving alignment across multiple teams and senior/CxO stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to define and measure performance metrics that align with business objectives.
- Champions Agile principles and practices within the tribe, coaching and mentoring multiple Agile teams to deliver value iteratively and continuously.
- Mediates and resolves conflicts between teams or individuals within the tribe, fostering a collaborative, respectful and psychologically safe work environment.
- Facilitates collaboration and coordination between multiple Agile teams within the tribe, managing dependencies, resolving conflicts, and ensuring alignment on priorities.
- Effectively communicates tribe progress, impediments, and dependencies to senior management, product owners, and other stakeholders.
- Defines and communicates a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap for the tribe, aligning it with overall organisational goals and product strategy.
- Extensive experience of Product management working within a complex environment.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and experimentation within the tribe, encouraging teams to identify and implement process enhancements.
- Works with Product Owners to allocate resources effectively across multiple teams within the tribe, optimising for productivity and delivery.
- Works with business leaders to secure funding to deliver tribe strategy and roadmap; and manages spend within the tribe.
- Possesses a strong understanding of the business domain enabling clear strategies to deliver business value.
- Strong understanding of the technical domain and technologies used by the tribe, enabling effective communication and decision making.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
Please be aware that this position is a Certified Function role / Senior Management Function role under the SM&CR regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.
