Job overview: We’re looking for an experienced Learning and Development Manager to join our UK Learning and Development team. You’ll provide expert learning consultancy and oversee the performance management of our learning and development initiatives, working closely with key business stakeholders. You’ll shape the end-to-end process from defining through to deployment and continuously improve the AXA UK Leadership Development proposition. You’ll ensure that our leadership development programmes support strategic business goals, drive performance improvements, deliver strong return on investment, and meet stakeholder expectations.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Senior Learning and Development Business Partner, key stakeholders, and Centres of Excellence within the People Team to deliver a leadership development proposition aligned with AXA UK’s strategic vision for the future.
- Use stakeholder insights to shape future-focused leadership initiatives that meet evolving business needs.
- Adopt a strategic, outcome driven, and evidence-based approach to promoting our leadership offerings.
- Foster a culture of continuous, self-led learning that is seamlessly integrated into daily workflows.
- Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure content remains relevant, future oriented, and supports business performance, securing ongoing buy in and sponsorship.
- Identify skill and capability gaps, analyse root causes, and collaborate with internal and external teams to develop cost effective, scalable, digital first learning solutions.
- Prioritise self-development, stay informed on emerging trends, and seek innovative ways to enhance learner engagement and effectiveness.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
Your skills & experience:
- Experienced Learning and Development professional with solid knowledge of relevant practices.
- Currently working towards or holds a CIPD Level 5 Diploma in Learning and Development.
- Strong understanding of learning and development operating models, processes, tools, methodologies, and techniques.
- Able to quickly understand, analyse, and interpret data and insights to identify root causes.
- Skilled in building trusting relationships, stakeholder management, influencing, and engaging at senior levels.
- Action-oriented, delivery focused, with excellent project management skills in planning and implementing programmes.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and deal with conflicting priorities.
- Passionate about delivering high quality work and continuous improvement.
- Commercially aware, with an ability to leverage external trends and emerging technologies to innovate learning and development offerings.
- Experience of operating in a matrixed organisation would be advantageous.
