What you’ll be doing
What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Actuarial Pricing Analysis
- Underwriting and Pricing Tools
- Conduct case pricing for deals as required by underwriters. Structured Risk Solutions is 100% case priced and underlying risks can include any line of business, including property, casualty, cyber, etc., or completely non-traditional risks. These may be experience rated, exposure rated using traditional LOB information, or both. This might involve liaising with other LOB actuaries to obtain relevant benchmark data, while working to deal timelines.
- Maintenance and development of the stochastic SRS pricing model, along with improvement of the pricing process
- Obtaining and periodically updating relevant benchmark information
- Provide training and guidance to underwriters on pricing model
- Review and monitoring of underwriting metrics
- Collaborate with the analytics team on improving the pricing model based on new data sources and analytical techniques
Colleague Interactions
- Represent pricing and analytics in SRS product meetings on behalf of the Head of Pricing for PRCB and SRS
- Coordinate with the Global Product Pricing Actuaries to ensure consistency in pricing
- Understand data and processes and propose improvements that will enhance analysis and efficiency of the pricing process in a manner commensurate to the profit opportunity
- Reinsurance Analysis, Risk Management and Regulatory Support
- Quarterly and ad hoc monitoring of cat aggregations within SRS portfolio
You will report to the Head of Pricing, PRCB and SRS.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- Significant case pricing experience across a range of non-life (re)insurance lines of business, including long-tail and short-tail lines. Pricing of either Alternative Risk Transfer or reinsurance is not required but would be of benefit
- Comfortable with stochastic models
- Proficiency in Excel and experience of programming in Python or R or SQL
- Understanding of catastrophe models
- Qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent)
- Influencing and negotiating skills
- Leadership skills to work collaboratively with colleagues across functions to build consensus
- Proven analytical skills
- Effective at communicating complex ideas
- The ability to think strategically and apply critical thinking to solve problems
