Job overview
We’re seeking a proactive Senior Sustainability Manager to support AXA UK’s sustainability strategy.
You’ll provide expert guidance on risks, regulation, and industry trends, working across risk, finance, underwriting, and strategy teams.
You’ll lead the Prudential Regulation Authority SS5/25 (PRA) project to embed climate risks into governance, and support external benchmarking and disclosures.
This role offers the chance to influence strategic initiatives and help position AXA UK as a sustainability leader.
Key responsibilities
- Lead delivery of AXA UK’s PRA SS5/25 implementation and embed climate risks into risk management and governance.
- Coordinate regulatory engagement, tracking, and senior stakeholder updates on sustainability and risk issues.
- Support climate scenario analysis, translating outputs into actionable insights.
- Monitor emerging sustainability regulation and industry developments, advising on impacts and opportunities.
- Conduct external benchmarking and horizon scanning to drive continuous improvement.
- Assist with regulatory disclosures.
- Contribute to strategic projects, governance, and operational initiatives beyond regulation.
- Support the implementation and development of AXA UK’s sustainability strategy and assist customer facing teams with related enquiries.
- Work arrangements
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers.
You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future.
Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

- Your skills & experience
- Experience in sustainability, climate risk or regulatory roles within financial services or another regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of climate and sustainability related regulatory developments, experience with regulatory implementation plans, including PRA climate risk expectations.
- Previous experience delivering complex cross-functional projects and coordinating activity across multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience preparing materials for senior leadership audiences.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Business strategy and risk management expertise beyond regulatory compliance.
