The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 £ per year.

As a Catastrophe Risk Analyst you will be using catastrophe models and other tools to manage and report exposures and assist with pricing risks. The role will work closely with the Property and Energy Underwriting teams to provide insights, assist with portfolio optimisation and help ensure agreed appetites and limits are adhered to.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting Property and Energy business classes, you will act as a key contact for underwriting teams, providing insight, education and undertaking project work as required.
  • Produce monthly reports and update dashboards which detail how the portfolio is utilising budgets/limits. Discuss and explain movements to the Underwriting teams.
  • Responsible for monitoring offshore energy exposures against agreed perils & scenarios using catastrophe models and aggregation software. This spans property and liability risks, including offshore windfarms.
  • Ensure exposure data captured is complete and accurate by working closely with teams located within shared service centres.
  • Pricing and analysis of complex risks.
  • Support actuarial, capital modelling & ceded teams by providing data for submissions as well as other ad hoc requests.
  • Make recommendations about process improvements.
  • Mentor junior team members and support in their learning and development.

You will report to Head of Energy, Property & Construction Catastrophe Risk.

  • Effective practical orientation and the ability to take advanced concepts and apply them in real-world situations.

  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of using the following software/platforms:
  • Exposure Management Software: Ebix ExposureHub (or similar).
  • Catastrophe Risk Models: Moody's RMS Risk Modeler / Risklink.
  • Database Tools: SQL Server Management Studio, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Desired Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Energy business, especially Offshore, would be advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of key insurance concepts and product offerings.
