We are seeking a talented Mid-Market P&C Underwriter to strengthen our team and contribute to the success and development of our branch portfolio, focusing not only on growth and profitability but also on delivering exceptional service to our customers. As a Mid-Market P&C Underwriter, you will play a key role in shaping how we partner with our broker portfolios through responsive, flexible, and collaborative relationships. Combining technical expertise with trading skills, you will be empowered to make informed decisions supported by data, insights, and mobile technology. Your focus will be on driving profitable growth across new business within key markets, contributing to our overall success.
What you will be doing:
- Accurately underwrite business risks that will complement AXA’s aims and ambitions for long term sustainability.
- Build and maintain a sustainable panel of prospects.
- Liaise with brokers to identify all opportunities and market developments.
- Issue the correct and accurate documentation in line with current processes and procedures.

- Analytical skills with proven experience of account monitoring and action planning.
- Technical underwriting expertise.
- Sound knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for insurance.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom. This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
