Job overview: We’re pleased to announce a permanent, full-time opportunity for a registered adult nurse to join AXA Health in Glasgow or Bristol. In this role, you’ll use your clinical expertise and case management skills to provide exceptional support to our members and their families during cancer treatment. Working closely with clinicians and hospitals, you’ll help ensure our members receive the highest standards of care. Known internally as Nurse Case Manager - Cancer Care, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives.
Key responsibilities:
- Effectively manage claims and act as a clinical expert providing our members with specialist knowledge and assistance.
- Ensure members are aware of the treatment options within their cover and keep them informed of the progress of their claims.
- Provide telephone support during a difficult time to our members and their family.
- Be interested in our team, department and the wider business targets and how you can personally contribute to achieve these.
- Understand and role model the principles of claims cost management and identify potential areas of leakage.
- Develop in-depth knowledge, expertise and proficiency.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.
Working Hours & Shift Pattern:
You’ll work full time, 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Your skills & experience:
- Registered Adult Nurse (RN).
- Nursing diploma or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in nursing.
- Current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC).
- Substantive post registration clinical experience.
- Ideally, you’ll have cancer nursing experience.
- High levels of judgement, decision making and ownership.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage difficult conversations.
- Sound relationship management capabilities.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom. This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years. Please also note that you'll be screened through an enhanced DBS Check.
