You'll work closely with key stakeholders—including the CEO, Executive team, Board, and AXA Group—acting as the owner of all strategic processes and documents.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the development and execution of AXA Ireland’s overall strategy, including the annual strategy process and internal/external contextual reviews.
  • Facilitate regular strategic discussions with the Executive team and Board, ensuring alignment and informed decision-making.
  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritise strategic initiatives across the business to support growth and transformation.
  • Develop responses to strategic issues raised by leadership and integrate these into the overarching strategy.
  • Ensure coherence between the strategy, financial targets, and operational plans.
  • Oversee the preparation, approval, and communication of all strategy documents and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement throughout the strategy process, including the AXA Group and regional teams.
  • Support and guide business units in implementing strategic initiatives and maintaining clear, aligned strategies at all levels.
  • Lead deep-dive projects and strategic reviews to refine specific aspects of the business strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal communications to effectively share the strategy and business priorities across all staff levels.

About You/What we’re looking for:

  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in a similar business role, that requires sound business judgment, excellent business communication skills, and an ability to inspire confidence at the highest levels.
  • Third level qualification in business or another relevant discipline essential.
  • An insurance related qualification or project management qualification (agile, PMI or similar), would be beneficial.
  • Excellent understanding of businesses like AXA Ireland, the wider insurance market context, and key strategic trends that will impact AXA in the future.
  • Ability to operate independently within the role, to make sound business decisions and judgements, and to take responsibility for an important business function.
  • Excellent listening and analytical skills with an ability to accurately absorb and assess complex information and opinions from the full spectrum of stakeholders.
  • Very advanced communication skills, including excellent report writing and written communication abilities, and very strong oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence people and inspire confidence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Comfortable working with numbers and financial data.

This role is allocated CF1 role under Fitness & Probity Regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.
