We have a new opportunity based in Derry, Belfast or Dublin head office. Reporting to the Claims Strategy & Performance Manager, the Claims Performance Lead will contribute to the development and execution of claims performance outcomes and data for the Claims function at AXA Ireland. The role will focus on continuously enhancing claims performance through innovation, using data as a superpower and driving efficiency and indemnity savings while advancing customer experience. It will aim to support sustainable business growth by implementing technical excellence, automation, improving processes and maintaining AXA Ireland’s competitive edge within the claims market.

What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the development of automated reporting and insights that support resource allocation, decision making, capability development, and ensure timely delivery of business requests and claims projects.
- Support strategic projects such as BT, AI, and automation initiatives, acting as Claims Data SME, ensuring data requirements, measures and KPIs are fit for purpose.
- Collaborate with Claims Strategy Leads team & other functional performance areas within Retail, UW, Pricing, Customer & Claims Analytics to monitor and analyse claims performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions to optimise outcomes.
- Oversee initiatives to achieve cost efficiencies and indemnity savings, balancing financial performance with customer outcomes.
- Collaborate with both local and group standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and cross-functional cooperation to enable a consistent, high-quality, customer-centric claims experience.
- Partner with the business to develop, coordinate, and track initiatives aimed at enhancing operational performance.
- Lead & champion initiatives that deliver a seamless, customer-centric claims experience, fostering trust, transparency and loyalty.
- Provide insight into fraud trends, litigation risk, and customer expectations within the ROI and NI market.
- Support planning and forecasting activities, working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor strategies, and emerging risks to ensure AXA Ireland remains ahead in claims excellence.
- Promote technical excellence within claims operations and manage risks associated with claims handling and strategy implementation.
What we’re looking for:
- 5-7 years experience in Financial Services/ General Insurance with strong reporting and analytical skills (essential).
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in business analysis, performance management or strategy - demonstrated ability to apply quantitative methods to real business problems (essential).
- Professional experience/qualification in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Strategy, Data Analytics/statistics Leadership, or a closely related field (essential).
- Professional qualifications in claims management or insurance (e.g., CIP, ACII) are advantageous (desirable).
- Experience with any Computer Programming language (R, Python) - at least a strong interest in gaining an understanding of the fundamentals (desirable).
This role is an allocated Controlled Function under Fitness & Probity Regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.
