We are seeking a proactive and dynamic Business Development Executive to play a pivotal role in expanding our partnership with AIB.

In this critical position, you will foster profitable growth by engaging directly with AIB branch staff, Retail Managers, Insurance Champions, and the AIB GI team.

Your expertise will help resolve underwriting, pricing, and administrative challenges, while developing innovative campaigns to generate new quotes and enhance client retention.

You'll work majority of your week away from home.

Away from home means either attendance at one of our head office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing

  • Drive profitable growth through direct engagement with AIB branch staff, Retail Managers, and Insurance Champions.
  • Build strong relationships with the AIB GI team to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with AXA colleagues to resolve underwriting, pricing, and administrative issues that hinder growth.
  • Develop and implement local and nationwide campaigns to increase quote generation across the AIB branch network.
  • Take ownership of sales targets and customer retention within your designated areas.
  • Resolve complaints and technical issues raised by clients at both branch and central levels to remove obstacles to growth.
  • Participate actively in planning processes, aligning with colleagues and other functions to set achievable goals.
  • Monitor and report on performance, ensuring that targets and objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality customer service and foster positive client relationships.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance partnership success and business results.

About You/What we’re looking for

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of underwriting principles, particularly for Home & Motor insurance, and the ability to apply key factors influencing quote generation, conversion, and retention.
  • Holds an up-to-date APA – Personal & Commercial qualification.
  • A relevant third-level qualification (Degree/Diploma) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Full clean driving licenseis required, as the role requires travel.
  • Face-to-face customer experience or B2B client experience is highly beneficial, coupled with effective selling skills and a high degree of self-reliance.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective planning and organisational abilities to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in systems, MS Office Suite and AI packages.

This role is a mandatory role under Fitness & Probity Regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.
