We have an exciting opportunity for a Motor Claims Handler to start a rewarding career with AXA Commercial based in our Bolton office. As part of our Commercial Claims team, you’ll help customers and brokers of AXA Commercial in the UK. You’ll take pride in working as part of an effective team and we’ll provide you with the opportunity to learn about new claims products. You’ll have excellent communication skills and the ability to build great relationships, in order to fully support our customers over the phone. We always put the Customer First in everything we do, so we want someone who strives to go the extra mile for them.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
Working Hours & Shift Pattern: Full time, 35 hours per week over 5 days, Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
Training: You’ll receive a comprehensive onsite induction to set you up for success in your new role. Our 12-week training programme will be delivered onsite at our Bolton Office. Following training and once you demonstrate competency in your role, you’ll then transition to a hybrid working model. Typically, you should expect to start working a hybrid way of working around the 6-month mark, depending on your individual development which includes quality and productivity metrics being met. What you’ll be doing:
- Managing your own portfolio of claims, offering relevant and accurate information to every customer based on your professional expertise and training.
- Carrying out investigation of claims, obtaining quantum information to make appropriate policy and legal liability decisions.
- Recommend and action the most appropriate use of the claims management processes, Credit Hire and using current law to provide a cost-effective settlement.
- Identify and contribute to improvement in claims processes to ensure optimum efficiency and ability to deliver business results.
- Utilise strong attention to detail, remaining calm in the face of challenge to effectively help customers when they need us the most.
What you’ll bring:
- Previous experience handling Motor claims up to a value of £10,000.
- Experience working in insurance/understanding of insurance products and processes.
- Ability to connect and communicate clearly with a variety of people, utilising quick problem-solving skills.
- Capable of negotiating settlements and resolving disputes effectively.
- Passionate about working as part of a collaborative team.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom. This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
