We have an exciting FTC opportunity to join our CEO Office as Business Manager to the CEO. As the Business Manager, you will report to the Chief of Staff providing analysis, advice and direction on key business activities to deliver on key strategic priorities, whilst ensuring the CEO is fully prepared for business meetings and events.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to convince and win over stakeholders through strong impact and influencing skills. You should be structured, methodical and organised to meet strict deadlines, as well as possess excellent reporting and presentation skills and show sound judgement across a range of complex and diverse business issues.

You'll work the majority of your week away from home, at one of our office locations in Dublin, Derry or Belfast. Please note this role requires regular attendance at our Dublin head office, Wolfe Tone House.
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure the CEO is fully prepared for key business meetings and events by preparing and collating papers, and respond to any matters arising.
- Provide briefings or presentations that the CEO may require.
- Prepare summaries and critiques of key business documents for the CEO, highlighting the most relevant issues.
- Help the CEO to deliver on key business priorities and objectives, monitoring progress across the priorities and identifying solutions where concerns arise and ensuring full co-ordination across the Executive team to deliver agreed priorities.
- Offer advice and support to the CEO and complete delegated tasks on their behalf.
- Act as a point of contact for business queries from other stakeholders across the group including the UK and European Markets.
- Organise Exec Away Days and other similar events, and attend meetings on behalf of the CEO when delegated to do so.
- Support the preparation of annual plans; deliver high quality business reporting; and provide in-depth market insights.
What we’re looking for:
- Experienced business manager with an in-depth understanding of the insurance and financial services markets and expected future developments, ideally 5 years + in a similar role.
- Relevant qualification would be beneficial.
- Deep understanding of AXA Ireland and/or similar businesses, including customer needs, key technical functions, and high-level governance requirements.
- Ability to understand, assimilate and act on complex business and financial issues.
- Strong relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships and trust at a senior level.
- Excellent report-writing and written communication skills and a high level of presentation and negotiation skills.
- Highly organised, action-oriented and delivery focused mind-set, with strong project management skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information discretely.
- Flexible in the role and a strong desire to learn and continuously build new skills.
This role is an allocated Controlled Function under the Fitness & Probity Regime, which means the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced level of background screening requirements.
