About the role

As a

Claims Negotiator , you will be responsible for managing motor claims through to resolution, ensuring timely recovery of costs and delivering against monthly pledge and cash targets.

You will use your negotiation skills, legal understanding, and customer service expertise to resolve disputes, progress claims efficiently, and maintain high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

You will be required to attend the Fort Dunlop office for a minimum of two days per week.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • proactively manage a portfolio of motor claims to achieve monthly financial targets
  • investigate delays and non-payment issues, resolving outstanding cases promptly
  • negotiate with third-party insurers to maximise recovery, balancing commercial outcomes with litigation risk
  • liaise with clients’ solicitors to progress claims via the personal injury portal or into litigation where necessary
  • review liability disputes by analysing case files, accident locations, and road layouts
  • engage with clients and witnesses to gather supporting evidence and resolve disputes without litigation where possible
  • consult with Team Leaders on complex cases and agree next steps
  • conduct full case reviews, liaising with internal departments to gather necessary information
  • produce clear chronologies of events, including hire periods, repair timelines, and communications
  • recommend actions on under-recoveries and disputed hire periods following thorough file analysis
  • ensure all actions and communications are accurately recorded in the Back Office system
  • reinforce payment criteria set by the ABI, particularly in cases involving rate disputes or late payment penalties
  • maintain compliance with GDPR and internal policies
  • work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless claim progression
  • provide feedback and insights to support process improvements and training initiatives
  • carry out additional tasks as requested by your Line Manager.
