We are seeking an honorary treasurer to work closely with the chair of the business management and finance committee, advising the trustee board on business management and finance related to Girlguiding Scotland. The treasurer will contribute to the delivery of the organization’s strategy as a trustee and member of the finance committee, overseeing the finance function, providing guidance on investments, and collaborating with the finance manager and committee chair. As a trustee, you will be actively involved in shaping the strategic direction and performance of Girlguiding Scotland, ensuring it continues to meet member needs.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Experience in setting and monitoring investment strategies and managing significant investment portfolios.
- Experience in reporting to board level, audit, and knowledge of charity SORP (FRS102).
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, management accounting, and statutory financial reporting.
- Ability to participate in remote meetings using various technologies and access online documents.
- Eligibility to become a trustee in Scotland.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- CA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or similar qualification.
