Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to join our Financial Services team, focusing on Capital Markets customers in the UK. As a trusted technical advisor, you will help leading financial institutions innovate and transform their business using AWS technologies. Solutions Architects work hand in hand with AWS customers to help them make the most of the Cloud. They own the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS and make recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency. They work to understand the customer's business needs and give prescriptive guidance on how to create business value with technology. To do this they collaborate with other teams such as account management, professional services, support, product teams and the AWS partner ecosystem.
In this role you will get to practice your creativity, linking technology to tangible solutions and educating AWS customers about the art of the possible within a diverse and evolving market. You will work closely with an Account Executive to help customers achieve their outcomes using AWS technology. The Solutions Architecture team is a diverse group of technologists from a variety of backgrounds. Practical knowledge of the AWS platform is desired but not required, provided you have a sound technical foundation and a desire to learn.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the technical relationship with the customer and operate as their trusted advisor. The best interests of the customer will shape the guidance you provide.
- Lead technical discussions, architecture design and reviews, and workshops across trading, risk, post-trade, market data, asset and wealth management domains to drive business value.
- Design scalable and secure solutions leveraging AWS services and emerging technologies (AI/ML, HPC).
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop and execute customer engagement strategies.
- Create technical content and reference architectures for capital markets use cases.
- Influence AWS product roadmap based on customer needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
- Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
