We are seeking reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Drivers for high-volume temperature-controlled and fresh produce logistics operations based in Spalding. Situated in the heart of the UK's food supply chain with seamless access to the A16, A151, and A1 corridors, this role offers competitive hourly pay, guaranteed shift hours, and dependable long-term stability with temp-to-perm pathways for dedicated drivers.

Key Details & Responsibilities

  • Hours: 45 – 50 hours per week (Day shifts, evening runs, and 4-on/4-off rotas available)
  • Start Date: Immediate starts available following standard site induction
  • Safe Transport: Reefer trailer trunking, supermarket RDC deliveries, and food distribution network runs across the East Midlands and national hubs
  • Vehicle Checks: Conducting daily pre-trip walk-around safety inspections and monitoring trailer refrigeration temperatures
  • Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to temperature integrity protocols, EU Drivers’ Hours, Working Time Directive (WTD), and digital tachograph rules
  • Documentation: Accurate handling of temperature log sheets, electronic delivery manifests, and Proof of Delivery (POD) sign-offs

Requirements

  • Licence & Cards: Valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence, Driver CPC qualification card, and Digital Tachograph card
  • Class 1 Experience: Proven commercial Class 1 driving experience, a valid licence with no more than 6 minor points, and strictly no DR, DD, or IN endorsements.
  • Clean Record: Maximum 6 penalty points (strictly no DR/DD/IN endorsement codes)
  • Professional Standards: High standards of road safety, punctuality, and careful vehicle handling
