Build Your Specialist Engineering Career as we believe great engineers are defined by their skills, attitude and approach, not solely by the industry they come from. We are looking for Maintenance Engineers to join our highly skilled engineering team. While experience with CNC machine tools would be advantageous, we are equally interested in engineers with strong maintenance, fault-finding and problem-solving skills gained across a broad range of industrial environments. We value aptitude, attitude and a willingness to learn just as highly as direct machine tool experience and know that valuable engineering experience can be gained across many industries and environments, so if you have a strong maintenance background, excellent problem-solving skills and a genuine desire to learn, we encourage you to apply. We are looking for engineers with the potential to develop into machine tool specialists and are committed to providing the training and support needed to help the right individuals succeed.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Maintaining, servicing and repairing machine tools and associated manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnosing and resolving faults across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control systems.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability, availability and performance.
- Responding to equipment breakdowns and safely restoring operational capability in a timely manner.
- Supporting machine installations, commissioning activities, modifications and engineering improvement projects.
- Analysing equipment performance and contributing to reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborating with production, engineering and project teams to deliver operational excellence.
- Ensuring all activities are completed in accordance with health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
Who We're Looking For:
Essential:
- Engineering apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent practical engineering experience.
- Experience in a maintenance engineering role within an industrial, manufacturing, production, facilities, utilities or engineering environment.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or automated equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals and engineering documentation.
Desirable:
- Experience maintaining CNC machine tools or complex manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of Siemens, Fanuc, Heidenhain or similar control systems.
- PLC fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
- Experience working with servo drives, motors and automation systems.
- Machine installation, commissioning, calibration or precision alignment experience.
- Knowledge of Asset Management Systems.
- Understanding of reliability-centred maintenance, condition-based monitoring and continuous improvement methodologies.
