Package: £47,690 - £75,370 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience).

Let us introduce the role: AWE is seeking experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineers to join our Design, Construction, and Commissioning team within the Capital Engineering Function working as part of the TEUTATES programme. This team is responsible for delivering a diverse array of bespoke engineering projects. We are currently leading the largest construction project in Europe, focused on upgrading and replacing a diverse range of facilities, each presenting unique requirements and challenges. The TEUTATES Programme fulfils the United Kingdom's obligations under the TEUTATES Treaty with France. This treaty outlines the commitments of both nations to enhance cooperation on Hydrodynamic Trials, which are crucial for Nuclear Deterrent Research and Development. The Programme comprises five key projects that deliver:
- X-Ray technology
- Explosive vessels
- Nuclear assembly operations and trials
- Complex command and control systems

Who are we looking for? We do need you to have the following:
- A Degree or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline with professional registration
- Demonstrable practical mechanical design experience
- Internal/External Stakeholder management experience
- Experience of all aspects of project life cycle
- Knowledge of Engineered plant systems in Production/Process plant equipment, Building services or Utilities distribution & Engineering
- Experience of working in a regulated environment with understanding of HAZOP process
- Capable of undertaking role of Principal Designer under CDM Regulations

Important things you need to know: You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
