We are looking for a Planning Technician to join us on a part-time basis, working three days per week, for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Welsh language skills are essential for this role. Please read the job description for the exact level required.

Role
As a Planning Technician, you will provide technical and administrative support to the Planning Section, helping to ensure the efficient delivery of statutory planning services across Eryri National Park. You will play a key role in validating, registering and managing planning applications and associated records, maintaining planning histories, coordinating consultations, and supporting compliance activities. You will also provide advice and assistance to applicants, agents and members of the public, responding to planning enquiries and delivering excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities
- Publish planning documents and information on the website
- Act as a duty officer, handling planning enquiries by phone, email, letter and in person
- Prepare plans, papers and reports for Planning and Access Committee meetings
- Administer planning appeals and coordinate responses
- Prepare mapping and plans using GIS systems
- Maintain records relating to appeals, incomplete applications and Section 106 agreements
About You
- Good communication skills in English and Welsh
- Knowledge of, or qualifications leading to, relevant membership of the RTPI
- Sound understanding of the basic principles of GIS
- Interest in environmental issues
- Welsh, English, Maths and Geography at GCSE level
