We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Home Care Assistant / Healthcare Support Worker with experience of working with challenging behaviour,who is kind, caring and compassionate and wants to make a real difference to others.

Working as the Home Care Assistant / Healthcare Support Worker you will perform duties and tasks that enhance the lives of individuals within their own homes.

The service caters for people who have care and support needs, including autism, learning disabilities and mental or physical health issues. Individuals may also display behaviours that are challenging.

Supported individuals may have been in hospital for a prolonged period of time and require robust support to aid their community and social integration.

As the Home Care Assistant / Healthcare Support Worker you will effectively communicate with the supported individuals, their family, friends and other health and social care professionals. You will be transporting the service users and other staff members to appointments and activities. Therefore, a full UK driving licence is essential to this role.

The ideal Home Care Assistant / Healthcare Support Worker will:

  • Be passionate about care

  • Have good verbal, numeracy, and written skills

  • Have the ability to show empathy and recognise the importance of putting the individual first

  • Have good punctuality and attendance

  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence

  • Have knowledge of Safeguarding of vulnerable people

  • Be able to commit to fixed rota patterns

  • Have a good understanding of confidentiality and the General Data Protection Act

  • Have knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace

  • Have achieved QCF in Health and Social Care Level 2, or commitment to working towards

  • Be able to continuously learn and develop new skills and increase knowledge
