An exciting opportunity for a Paint Sprayer / Workshop Technician with experience in spray painting, surface preparation and workshop operations within a busy engineering and manufacturing environment.
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Paint Sprayer / Workshop Technician to join a busy workshop environment supporting the preparation, refurbishment and finishing of industrial equipment. As a Paint Sprayer / Workshop Technician you will carry out spray painting, surface preparation, tyre changes, steam cleaning and basic mechanical tasks while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and productivity. The successful Paint Sprayer / Workshop Technician will work independently to agreed timescales, support workshop operations and contribute to the efficient preparation of forklifts and equipment ready for sale and customer use.
DUTIES
- Prepare Equipment for Sale: Carry out basic mechanical procedures and prepare trucks ready for sale
- Change Tyres: Remove, fit and stock tyres on wheels ready for workshop use
- Maintain Workshop Standards: Keep work areas clean, organised and compliant with health and safety procedures
- Clean Equipment: Steam clean and manually clean trucks and attachments to required standards
- Disassemble and Reassemble Components: Remove and refit wheels, panels, batteries and attachments as required
- Support Workshop Operations: Prepare paints, clean tools and organise workshop materials
- Inspect Surfaces: Check equipment for contamination, damage and imperfections prior to painting
- Complete Preparation Work: Clean, degrease, sand, fill and mask surfaces before paint application
- Apply Spray Finishes: Apply 2-pack paint systems to forklifts and attachments to achieve a high-quality finish
- Operate Workshop Equipment: Use compressors, air guns, clean air systems and heating controls safely and effectively
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in paint preparation, spray painting or a similar industrial environment
- Proven knowledge of surface preparation techniques and 2-pack paint systems
- Experience using sanding, masking, priming and spray painting equipment
- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations
- Ability to work independently with excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina for manual workshop duties
- Basic mechanical knowledge and willingness to undertake training where required
- A positive, reliable and proactive approach to work
