ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This opportunity has been structured to remove the typical barriers associated with launching a law firm, while retaining the long-term rewards of ownership. One of the founders operates an established and successful finance brokerage, generating a consistent volume of high-quality client enquiries. This creates a reliable pipeline of conveyancing work from day one, with additional opportunities to enhance client value through services such as estate planning and will writing.
To enable an immediate start, the practice will initially operate under an established platform law firm, allowing you to trade from the outset with full regulatory compliance and without the delays of authorisation. Alongside this, there is a clear and structured plan to transition the business into a fully independent, SRA-regulated ABS law firm. This creates a two-stage model:
- Stage 1: Immediate launch with income, infrastructure and compliance in place
- Stage 2: Transition to your own authorised firm with equity, control and long-term value
As the Founding Partner / Head of Conveyancing you will play a central role in shaping the firm’s strategy, service offering, pricing and growth.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
As the Founding Partner / Head of Conveyancing you will initially be based in the Exeter office for a few weeks, working closely with the executive team to establish the foundations of the practice. This includes setting up processes, systems, workflows and the overall client journey, as well as aligning on the long-term commercial and strategic direction of the firm. Once established, the role will transition to a more flexible remote working model, with monthly visits to Exeter for strategic meetings and leadership planning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Founding Partner / Head of Conveyancing you will:
- Lead and develop the conveyancing function within the firm
- Manage and deliver a range of residential property transactions
- Help design and implement operational processes and service standards
- Contribute to business strategy, growth and team development
- Support the transition to an independent ABS law firm
- Build and lead a high-performing conveyancing team over time
ABOUT YOU
You will be an experienced Conveyancing Solicitor, Residential Property Solicitor, or Licensed Conveyancer. You may currently be working as a Senior Conveyancing Solicitor / Head of Conveyancing, Property Partner or Legal Director, Conveyancing Manager or Team Leader, Licensed Conveyancer and will be looking for:
- A move into leadership or partnership
- Greater autonomy and commercial involvement
