As the Warehouse Operations Manager you will oversee operational performance, stock accuracy, fulfilment, warehouse management, and customer service delivery across retail, wholesale, pub, and e-commerce channels. The Warehouse Operations Manager will also play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives, digital transformation projects, and the planned implementation of a warehouse management system, helping improve operational efficiency and workflow processes.

DUTIES

  • Leading Warehouse Operations: Managing day-to-day warehouse activities across multiple sites to ensure operational efficiency and service delivery.
  • Managing Fulfilment Operations: Overseeing short lead-time fulfilment across retail, wholesale, pub, and e-commerce channels.
  • Driving Team Performance: Providing leadership, coaching, and support to supervisors, team leaders, and warehouse operatives.
  • Monitoring Operational KPIs: Tracking productivity, service levels, stock accuracy, and customer performance metrics.
  • Supporting Continuous Improvement: Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implementing Systems Improvements: Supporting the introduction and embedding of warehouse management systems and digital workflows.
  • Maintaining Stock Accuracy: Ensuring effective stock control, traceability, and product integrity standards are maintained.
  • Managing Customer Relationships: Acting as a key operational contact and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Supporting Compliance Standards: Ensuring health & safety, food hygiene, and operational compliance procedures are consistently followed.
  • Providing Hands-On Leadership: Maintaining a visible presence within warehouse operations and supporting teams during busy periods.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Significant previous experience in a warehouse management role within a fast-paced operational environment, ideally with exposure to multi-site operations.
  • Proven experience of leading teams and driving operational performance improvements, and operating with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with stock control, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confidence using operational systems, reporting tools, and performance data.
  • A proactive and hands-on leadership approach.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and remain calm under pressure.

DESIRABLE

  • Previous experience managing complex warehouse or logistics operations with responsibility for people, process, and performance.
  • Experience in food, FMCG, logistics, or temperature-controlled warehouse environments.
  • Experience working within a 3PL or supply chain operation.
  • Experience supporting or implementing warehouse management systems.
  • Understanding of multi-channel fulfilment including e-commerce operations.
  • Continuous improvement and operational transformation experience.
