WORKING HOURS: 37.5 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday with a shift system from 9am to 7pm
JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Trainee Administrator to join the dedicated team at Cellular Pathology Services (CPS), a respected provider of specialist digital pathology and laboratory services. As the Trainee Administrator you will be working within a medical laboratory setting, supporting a wide range of office-based administrative duties while also assisting with laboratory processes under supervision. This is a varied role where accuracy, organisation, teamwork and a professional approach are essential. The Trainee Administrator position offers excellent training, exposure to healthcare administration within a dynamic and purpose-driven organisation.
DUTIES
- Undertake administrative duties within the medical laboratory office
- Support the administrative functions of the laboratory and wider team
- Assist with laboratory processes under the supervision of Biomedical Science staff
- Help support Pathologists, Biomedical Scientists and colleagues in delivering a high-quality, patient-focused service
- Maintain accurate records, data entry and filing systems
- Handle documentation and general office administration to a high standard
- Follow department procedures, quality standards and company policies
- Comply with information governance, data security, health and safety and confidentiality requirements
- Carry out ad hoc duties and support continuous improvement across the team
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Computer literacy and confidence using standard office systems
- A proactive and positive approach to work
- Ability to work well as part of a team and use your own initiative
- Willingness to learn and develop in the role
- Ability to manage tasks effectively and maintain high standards
- Right to work in the UK
DESIRABLE
- Knowledge of general office procedures, filing systems and databases
- Previous experience in an administrative or data entry environment
- Typing and transcription skills
- Understanding of confidentiality within a healthcare or laboratory setting
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
