We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Sous Chef to join a successful and expanding in-house café operation supporting a leading cultural venue. This role plays a vital part in delivering a high-quality food and drink offer that enhances the overall visitor experience. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to support daily kitchen operations, contribute to menu development, and ensure consistently high standards during service, events, and occasional evening functions. The Sous Chef will take pride in preparing lunch-focused dishes, supporting a smooth-running service, and contributing creative ideas to continually improve the seasonal and sustainable food offer.
DUTIES
- Supporting Kitchen Operations: Assisting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Food Preparation and Service: Preparing and delivering high-quality dishes during café service and events
- Menu Development: Contributing creative ideas to seasonal and sustainable menus
- Service Leadership: Helping to maintain a smooth, efficient, and professional kitchen service
- Event Catering: Supporting catered public and private events, including occasional evenings
- Food Quality Standards: Ensuring consistency, presentation, and quality across all dishes
- Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively with kitchen colleagues to maintain high standards
