SALARY: £55,000 to £57,457 per annum + Generous Benefits
LOCATION: Approx. 80% on-site, 20% office/remote working. Can be based at either Ealing or Staines.

JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Surveyor / Contracts Surveyor to join a busy assets and property team delivering planned and cyclical maintenance programmes across a varied housing portfolio.
As a Surveyor / Contracts Surveyor you will manage projects from survey and specification through to contract administration, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and within budget while meeting statutory and quality standards.
Working closely with contractors, residents and internal stakeholders, the Surveyor / Contracts Surveyor plays a vital role in maintaining building performance, improving customer satisfaction and supporting long-term asset investment planning.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Surveyor / Contracts Surveyor include:
- Pre-Investment Surveys: Undertaking surveys to validate scopes of work against approved investment budgets
- Specifications and Schedules: Preparing schedules of work, specifications and tender documentation
- Tender Management: Managing the full tender process, including analysis and recommendations
- Contract Administration: Administering contracts and ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual obligations
- Performance Monitoring: Tracking cost, programme, quality and health and safety performance
- Contractor Management: Coordinating contractor selection, pre-start meetings and project delivery
- Resident Liaison: Engaging with residents and stakeholders to support smooth project delivery
- Progress Meetings: Arranging, chairing and minuting regular progress meetings
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring completed works meet required quality standards and expectations
- Continuous Improvement: Reviewing KPIs and challenging practices to achieve best value
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- ONC or HNC in Building Surveying or a related discipline
- Membership of RICS, CIOB, or equivalent qualification or experience
- Strong technical knowledge of building construction and regulations
- Proven experience delivering planned and cyclical maintenance in social housing
- Experience managing contractors and administering building contracts
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Competence using Microsoft Office and property databases
- Full clean UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel
- GCSEs (A-C) in English and Maths or equivalent
DESIRABLE
- Familiarity with statutory frameworks affecting Registered Social Landlords
- Experience working in a partnering or framework environment
- Knowledge of environmental sustainability and best practice in housing stock
- Experience contributing to stock condition data and asset management systems
This role requires a DBS check.
