An excellent opportunity for a Senior Homeless Project Worker to join a supported housing service, leading a team and delivering high-quality housing management, safeguarding and tenant support to vulnerable individuals within a residential setting.

There are 2 positions available, one senior and one non-senior role.

SALARY: £26,965 to £32,642 per annum + Generous Benefits

LOCATION: Oxford, Oxfordshire (OX4) – Office-based role

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

WORKING HOURS: Shift work, 36 hours per week

Week 1: Monday 08:00-20:00, Tuesday 10:00-20:00, Thursday 08:00-16:00, Sunday 14:00-20:00

Week 2: Monday 09:00-18:00, Tuesday to Thursday 08:00-17:00

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Support Manager / Homelessness Project Worker to join a dedicated supported housing team in Oxford. This role combines leadership, housing management, safeguarding and facilities oversight within a residential environment. As a Support Manager / Homelessness Project Worker you will coordinate a small team, ensuring effective service delivery, compliance with health and safety standards, and high-quality support for residents. You will play a key role in tenancy sustainment, independent living skills and partnership working. The Support Manager / Homelessness Project Worker will also support service users with housing advice, financial planning, access to benefits and engagement with health and social care services, promoting positive outcomes and long-term stability.

DUTIES

  • Team Leadership and Coordination: Line manage and support a team of Intensive Housing Management Workers
  • Rota Management: Ensure appropriate staffing levels to safely manage the service at all times
  • Housing Management: Oversee tenancy and licence agreements, addressing breaches, arrears and anti-social behaviour
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Carry out building checks and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Facilities Oversight: Coordinate maintenance and liaise with internal teams regarding repairs and building management
  • Safeguarding and Incident Reporting: Complete reports and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Resident Support: Provide guidance on tenancy responsibilities, financial planning and accessing benefits
  • Partnership Working: Build relationships with external agencies and community services
  • User Engagement: Promote resident participation, feedback and involvement in service development

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Previous experience in a care, support or housing environment
  • Experience of safeguarding processes and procedures
  • Experience of leading or coordinating a team
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships
  • Ability to support individuals in developing independent living skills
  • Competent IT skills, including use of systems and record keeping
  • Ability to follow administrative procedures and maintain confidentiality
  • Flexible approach to work and ability to respond to emergencies

DESIRABLE

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards
  • Experience in facilities management or health and safety
  • Driving licence and access to own transport
