An excellent opportunity for a Stores / Stock Control Assistant with inventory, goods in/out, stock accuracy and warehouse support experience to join a busy manufacturing environment.

We are looking for candidates who have worked in roles such as Stock Controller, Stores Operative, Inventory Controller, Goods In Assistant, Warehouse Operative, Materials Controller, Warehouse Administrator or Stores Assistant.

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience plus benefits

Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, East Midlands

Job Type: Full‑Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Days, 39 Hours per Week, 07:30 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 – 12:30 Friday

Job Overview: As a Stores / Stock Control Assistant you will receive and record deliveries, unload goods, issue stock to production and maintain accurate records for proof of delivery, manifests and store processes. You will support a fast‑paced engineering and manufacturing environment where communication, teamwork, Microsoft Office skills and a flexible, can‑do approach are essential.

Duties:

  • Goods Inwards: Receive and record all deliveries, ensuring they match documentation and purchase orders and are of good quality
  • Stock Handling: Unload items into the relevant goods inwards area before they are put away into the correct locations and documented
  • Picking and Kitting: Accurately pick and kit stock and parts in a timely manner in line with production requirements
  • Inventory Counts: Conduct daily perpetual inventory counts to support accurate stock records
  • Stock Accuracy: Carry out daily stores audits and report any discrepancies to the senior stores colleague immediately
  • Stock Issue: Issue stock and parts to the production department as required
  • Inspection Checks: Ensure issued and received stock and parts have been inspected
  • Process Compliance: Follow all stores processes and procedures accurately
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records for proof of delivery, manifest shipments and related documentation

Candidate Requirements:

  • Stores Experience: Previous experience working in a stores, stock control, warehouse or inventory role
  • Computer Skills: Computer literate with Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Fast‑Paced Environment: Able to work effectively under pressure in a busy operational setting
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communicator with good organisation and coordination skills
  • Teamwork: Team‑player with a flexible working mentality and a positive approach
  • Customer Service Background: Previous experience in a customer services office environment
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing industry would be a distinct advantage
  • Problem Solving: Creative thinker with a can‑do attitude
  • FLT Licence: A forklift truck licence would be advantageous
