Job Overview
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Spray Painter / Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician to join a professional team delivering visually striking commercial projects nationwide. In this role, the Spray Painter / Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician will apply a range of coatings across varied environments, working to detailed specifications while maintaining excellent quality and safety standards. As a Spray Painter / Paint Sprayer / Paint Technician, you will combine technical expertise with strong attention to detail, adapting to different sites and schedules while contributing to consistently high-quality finishes.
Duties
- Spray Equipment Operation: Operating and maintaining conventional, airless, and HVLP spray systems
- Surface Preparation: Cleaning, degreasing, sanding, masking, filling, and blasting where required
- Paint Selection and Mixing: Selecting and mixing coatings including acrylics, enamels, epoxies, and polyurethanes
- Paint Application: Applying coatings evenly to specified film thicknesses and drying times
- Quality Inspection: Checking finishes and correcting defects such as runs, sags, or inconsistent coverage
- Technical Interpretation: Working from drawings, specifications, and work orders
- Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining spray guns, hoses, and paint systems
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in spray painting
- Proficient in different paint techniques
- Familiar with different paint types
- Familiar with different types of surface preparation
- Familiarity with fleet, rail, or signage environments
- Conversant with job specific RPE & HSE Protocols
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours (including nights/weekends if required)
Desirable
Any relevant certifications (e.g., CSCS card, IPAF, PASMA) would be preferred, although not essential.
