We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Specialist Domestic Abuse Support Worker to provide vital support to survivors with multiple and compound needs including mental health challenges, homelessness, substance misuse, and offending behaviour.
As a Specialist Domestic Abuse Support Worker, you will work across both residential and community settings to assess needs, reduce risk, and empower survivors to rebuild their lives. You will engage with multiple agencies to deliver integrated, person-centred support and ensure access to safe accommodation.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Specialist Domestic Abuse Support Worker include:
Provide Person-Centred Support: Deliver tailored, trauma-informed assistance to survivors with complex needs
Complete Risk Assessments: Identify, record, and manage risks to ensure survivor safety and wellbeing
Develop Care Plans: Create bespoke action plans to address housing, health, and social needs
Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work with external agencies to coordinate wraparound support and referrals
Deliver Programmes: Facilitate key-work sessions and structured activities promoting independence and recovery
Promote Safe Environments: Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive residential setting
Encourage Empowerment: Support survivors in developing life skills and accessing community resources
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and data entries in line with GDPR
Crisis Intervention: Use de-escalation and PMVA techniques to manage challenging situations safely
Safeguarding Compliance: Operate within safeguarding and health and safety frameworks at all times
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Essential

Proven experience of supporting survivors of domestic abuse or individuals with multiple and complex needs
Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, and trauma-informed practice
Experience of working in residential or community-based support settings
Understanding of housing, benefits, and advocacy processes
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations
Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Commitment to equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice
Desirable
Experience of managing or supporting within a refuge or supported accommodation service
Knowledge of DAHA accreditation standards
Understanding of the criminal justice system and partnership working
Relevant qualification in social care, housing, or related discipline
First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain)
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check. All required checks will be undertaken as part of the pre employment process for any successful candidate.
