An exciting opportunity for a Careers Adviser / Employability Coordinator to lead careers education, employer engagement and student progression activities within a thriving secondary education environment. The role focuses on careers programmes, stakeholder partnerships, events management and student destination tracking.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Careers Adviser / Employability Coordinator to lead and deliver a progressive careers-related learning programme within a growing secondary school environment. Working closely with senior leadership, the Careers Adviser / Employability Coordinator will develop careers education initiatives, coordinate employer engagement activities, and oversee impactful careers events including careers fairs and practice interviews.

As a Careers Adviser / Employability Coordinator you will manage destination data, support student progression, build partnerships with employers and community organisations, and ensure compliance with Gatsby Benchmarks and careers guidance standards.

DUTIES

  • Programme Leadership: Design, implement and evaluate the schools Careers Related Learning programme aligned with national careers standards and Gatsby Benchmarks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and manage relationships with employers, community partners and volunteers to support careers education initiatives.
  • Careers Event Management: Plan and deliver major careers events including careers fairs, practice interviews and employer engagement activities.
  • Independent Advice Coordination: Organise schedules for external careers advisers ensuring students receive impartial guidance and progression support.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor student destination data and engagement metrics to inform strategic improvements and reporting.
  • Operational Administration: Oversee careers administration processes ensuring accurate records, efficient systems and professional standards.
  • Work Experience Programme Management: Coordinate workplace learning placements, ensuring health and safety compliance and appropriate opportunities for students.
  • Employer Partnerships: Proactively identify and secure local business partners to support placements, talks and careers enrichment activities.
  • Communication Strategy: Promote careers opportunities and information through digital platforms, communications and school channels.
  • Strategic Contribution: Support the development of careers strategy and ensure compliance with education policies and statutory guidance.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience coordinating careers education, employability programmes, student progression or similar initiatives.
  • Experience organising events, managing stakeholders or coordinating external partnerships.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience analysing data, producing reports and monitoring programme outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with employers, students and staff.
  • Strong administrative skills including database management, record keeping and digital systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, leadership teams and external organisations.
