JOB OVERVIEW
This is an opportunity to modernise an established enterprise application and create a contemporary browser-based experience as a Senior React Developer / Senior Front End Developer.
Working with technical architects, back-end developers and stakeholders, the Senior React Developer / Senior Front End Developer will shape a secure, performant and scalable solution integrating with an established HCL Domino back end, with delivery currently scheduled for April 2027.
The Senior React Developer / Senior Front End Developer will also help leave a lasting technical legacy through documentation, mentoring, knowledge sharing and structured handover, enabling the existing team to support and develop the solution after delivery.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Senior React Developer / Senior Front End Developer include:
- Front-End Development: Design and develop responsive, high-quality web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS and modern front-end technologies
- API Integration: Build and maintain secure integrations with existing back-end services using REST APIs and modern integration patterns
- Identity and Access: Implement authentication and authorisation using Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth2 and OpenID Connect
- Technical Collaboration: Work with technical architects, back-end developers, stakeholders and the existing technical team to deliver a user-focused solution
- Performance and Accessibility: Build for performance, accessibility and scalability for approximately 500–1,000 users
- Engineering Delivery: Contribute to technical design, code reviews, testing, CI/CD and deployment activities in a cloud-hosted environment
- Technical Documentation: Document the solution, development approach and key technical decisions
- Knowledge Transfer and Handover: Provide practical knowledge sharing, mentoring and structured handover so the existing team can confidently maintain and further develop the application
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Strong commercial React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS application development experience
- Experience building secure enterprise web applications and integrating REST APIs
- Experience working with cloud-hosted solutions
- Good understanding of authentication and authorisation, particularly Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth2 and OpenID Connect
- Strong software engineering practices covering testing, CI/CD and source control
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and transfer knowledge effectively to other developers
- Experience collaborating within an established development team
DESIRABLE
- Experience integrating modern front-end applications with legacy or enterprise back-end platforms
- Knowledge of HCL Domino/Notes environments
- Experience delivering solutions within public-sector or regulated environments
- Experience providing technical mentoring, documentation and structured knowledge transfer
- Current SC or NPPV3 clearance; candidates eligible and willing to undergo the required security clearance may also be considered
