JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a highly committed, enthusiastic and energetic School Premises Manager / Site Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor. As the School Premises Manager / Site Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor you will manage a new school site, ensuring operational effectiveness whilst carrying out day to day maintenance tasks and overseeing site security and cleaning. The role is varied and you will have responsibility for Health & Safety systems, building maintenance, overseeing the site security, cleaning, record keeping, moving and handling of objects and deliveries, working at height and grounds maintenance. Basic literacy and numeracy and IT/computer skills are essential for this role. Job specific training will be provided if required.
DUTIES
- Ensure the security of the school buildings and site, liaising with staff, contractors and the Trust Estates Manager as appropriate
- Oversee and engage with the cleaning and maintenance of the site
- Undertake minor repairs, maintenance and decorating
- Oversee and be point of contact for the cleaners and other contractors on site as appropriate
- Undertake checks and maintain records to meet statutory health and safety requirements e.g. COSHH, legionella, risk assessments, fire alarms etc
- Liaise with the Headteacher about lettings and wider use of the site, working flexibly to meet the needs of the children and the school
- Have a key holder responsibility and be prepared to attend out of hours emergency call outs
- Be a keen team player but with the ability to work independently, flexible, and resilient with good communication skills
- Help to maintain our outdoor spaces for the children
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous site experience in a similar role, such as site management / facilities manager / building and maintenance is essential
- Handyperson / trade skills such as basic plumbing, carpentry and painting or decorating
- Good supervisory / leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Good IT/computer skills
- Committed, enthusiastic and energetic
- Ability to work at height and carry out physical tasks such as moving furniture
- Experience of working in schools is desirable
