A great opportunity for an organised and detail-focused administrator with sales order processing experience to join a small, close-knit team in a varied role supporting customers, suppliers and production. This role is known internally as a Technical Sales Administrator.

This role would also suit someone who has held a larger production, planning or manufacturing role and is now looking for a change of pace, somewhere they can put that hard-won product and process knowledge to good use in a smaller, close-knit team without the pressures of a bigger operation.

SALARY: £26,000 to £35,000 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid / Heathrow, West London – hybrid working available after probationary period, up to 2 days per week

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 39 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid break. Friday 8:00am to 3:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid break

JOB OVERVIEW

This is an excellent opportunity for a Sales Administrator who enjoys a hands-on, varied role at the centre of the sales and production process. Working as the Sales Administrator, you will convert customer orders into accurate, production-ready information, helping the factory team manufacture each order correctly while keeping customers, suppliers and colleagues informed. As the Sales Administrator, you will work with products supplied in different configurations and translate order details into the correct materials, sizes, quantities and components.

DUTIES

  • Process Customer Orders: Manage customer orders from initial enquiry through to dispatch, ensuring accuracy at every stage
  • Prepare Production Documentation: Convert order details into materials, sizes and components, including bills of materials for the factory team
  • Handle Customer Communication: Answer calls, support sales order processing and provide a professional level of customer service
  • Update Order Progress: Communicate lead times and order updates clearly to customers and internal colleagues
  • Liaise with Suppliers and Hauliers: Help keep orders, deliveries and collections running smoothly
  • Support Stock Control: Monitor stock levels and assist with timely replenishment
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep price lists, purchase orders, invoices, sales order systems and records organised and up to date
  • Work as part of a Small Team: Prioritise daily tasks, manage workload and support colleagues in a close-knit office environment

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Previous experience in a sales administration role
  • Comfortable working with measurements, quantities and material calculations
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience using a sales ordering or ERP system
  • Able to prioritise day-to-day tasks and manage workload with minimum supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence liaising with customers and suppliers
  • Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Collaborative and comfortable working as part of a small, close-knit team

DESIRABLE

  • Experience gained within a technical, mechanical, fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • Experience generating technical or production documentation, such as bills of materials, cutting lists or works orders
