An organised and detail-focused administrative role supporting goods inwards, logistics and purchasing operations within a busy recycling and manufacturing environment, with responsibility for weighbridge processes, data accuracy and stakeholder liaison.
As an Administrator / Goods Inwards Administration Assistant, you will support the accurate processing of inbound and outbound goods, manage weighbridge records, and assist with purchasing and logistics administration. You will liaise regularly with drivers, hauliers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
The Administrator / Goods Inwards Administration Assistant role would suit someone who is highly organised, confident using Microsoft Office, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
DUTIESYour duties as the Administrator / Goods Inwards Administration Assistant include:
- Weighbridge Operation: Operating the weighbridge safely and in line with site procedures and legal requirements
- Goods Processing: Accurately weighing goods in and out, applying relevant deductions for pallets, boxes and materials
- Data Recording: Recording vehicle movements, material weights and documentation accurately
- Verification Checks: Verifying load details, material codes and supplier or customer information prior to processing
- Documentation Control: Ensuring all weighbridge tickets and logs are completed correctly for invoicing purposes
- System Input: Inputting goods receipt and purchasing data onto internal systems including Sage
- Transport Coordination: Booking and managing skip exchanges and monitoring daily delivery schedules
- Site Compliance: Ensuring drivers adhere to site rules and procedures at all times
- Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as the first point of contact for drivers, hauliers, customers and suppliers
- Purchasing Support: Assisting with ordering processes, quote approvals and supplier communications
ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience in an administrative role within manufacturing, logistics or a similar operational environment
- Excellent competence using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- High attention to detail with accurate data entry skills
- Confident communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively
