An excellent opportunity for an organised HR professional with experience in HR administration, recruitment, payroll and first‑line HR support to take on a varied employee lifecycle and people operations role. This role is known internally as a People and Culture Associate.

SALARY: Circa £33,000 pro rata depending on experience + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid - Office in Rugby, Warwickshire

JOB TYPE: Part‑Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 20 hours per week (flexible but preference is that the hours are spread across three, four or five days to ensure consistent support)

Job Overview

The HR Coordinator (People and Culture Associate) will deliver a professional, responsive and customer‑focused HR service, providing employee lifecycle support across recruitment, onboarding, payroll, employee relations, HR systems and offboarding. Working as part of the People and Culture team, the HR Coordinator will provide first‑line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees, respond to routine HR enquiries and ensure colleagues receive accurate and timely support. This is a broad HR generalist support role combining HR coordination, people administration, recruitment coordination, payroll processing, employee records and HR systems management. The HR Coordinator (People and Culture Associate) will also support contractual changes, compliance, visa processes, people data and management reporting.

Duties

  • Employee Lifecycle Coordination: Provide HR administration and coordination throughout the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to contractual changes and offboarding
  • First‑Line HR Support: Act as a first point of contact for routine HR and People and Culture enquiries, providing timely advice and guidance to managers and employees
  • Recruitment Coordination: Support recruitment administration, candidate processes, pre‑employment checks and onboarding activities
  • Payroll Processing: Coordinate and process monthly payroll information accurately in conjunction with the outsourced payroll provider
  • HR Systems Management: Maintain HR systems, confidential employee records and people data, ensuring information remains accurate and up to date
  • Employee Relations Support: Assist with employee relations processes and provide generalist HR support to managers and colleagues
  • Contracts and Compliance: Administer contractual changes and support visa, employment compliance and pre‑employment requirements
  • People Data and Reporting: Produce management reports, HR information and people data using spreadsheets and HR systems
  • Customer‑Focused HR Service: Build positive working relationships and provide a professional, responsive HR service to colleagues at all levels
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to HR projects, People and Culture initiatives and continuous improvement activities that enhance the employee experience and support organisational objectives

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience working in a busy HR or People and Culture environment across HR administration, recruitment and payroll support
  • Experience providing first‑line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong numeracy and accurate data management skills
  • Good Microsoft Office and spreadsheet skills, with the ability to manage HR and payroll information accurately
  • Comfortable using HR systems and maintaining confidential employee records
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with managers, employees and colleagues across an organisation
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Ideally a CIPD Level 3 Certificate in Human Resource Practice or equivalent experience
