We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Structural Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of civil and building engineering projects across multiple sectors. As a Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality structural designs, calculations, and drawings, while working closely with project managers and construction teams to ensure successful project outcomes. You will be primarily office-based, with regular site visits required to support project delivery and coordination.
DUTIES
- Structural Design and Modelling: Creating detailed structural drawings and models using CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and MicroStation.
- Engineering Calculations: Producing comprehensive structural calculations in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Project Coordination: Collaborating with project managers and construction teams to resolve technical challenges and coordinate designs.
- Project Tracking: Using project management tools to monitor progress, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Technical Compliance: Reviewing specifications and reports to ensure designs meet client briefs, codes, and regulations.
- Documentation Support: Assisting with technical reports, documentation, and client presentations.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- ESSENTIAL: Previous experience in civil or structural engineering design within the construction or engineering sector.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, TEDDS, Tekla, or similar design tools.
- Strong technical knowledge of concrete, steel, and timber design principles.
- A solid understanding of structural analysis, mathematical principles, and engineering calculations.
- Experience managing multiple projects with excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- DESIRABLE: Experience with project management methodologies and associated software.
- Knowledge of geotechnical analysis and construction processes.
- A background in civil infrastructure or building construction projects.
