Job Overview
A skilled CNC Turner / Machinist is required to programme, set and operate CNC lathes, producing high-quality precision components using FANUC or Siemens controls within a modern manufacturing environment.
You will also support quality, tooling, process improvement, and production efficiency, helping the company deliver orders on time and to high standards.
Duties
- Program, set and operate CNC lathes to produce orders on time and to required quality standards.
- Machine exotic materials, including 625 and 718, using FANUC or Siemens control systems.
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings to support accurate component manufacture.
- Set or modify existing CNC programmes to meet production and quality requirements.
- Use measuring equipment and basic CMM to check components and maintain quality standards.
- Implement minor tooling changes and suggest major tooling improvements where required.
- Suggest production and machining improvements to the engineering department.
- Load varying size components into machines safely and competently.
- Assist and instruct others while working effectively alone and as part of a team.

Essential Qualifications
- Competent machinist with experience in a similar CNC turning, machining or precision engineering role.
- Ability to understand complex engineering drawings.
- Experience setting or modifying existing CNC programmes.
- Experience using measuring equipment and basic CMM.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to follow management direction to achieve results.
- Excellent timekeeping and communication skills.
- Enthusiasm, desire to learn and ability to work alone and as part of a team.

- NVQ 3 or equivalent in Engineering preferred.
