Project Manager An excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with public sector, business change, transformation, stakeholder management and project delivery experience. JOB TYPE: Full-Time, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week JOB OVERVIEW The organisation has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join its Business Change Team on a full-time, 12-month fixed term contract. Working at the heart of a major organisational productivity and transformation programme, the Project Manager will support the successful delivery, monitoring and governance of priority projects across the organisation. This role will suit a proactive and experienced Project Manager with substantial public sector experience, a strong understanding of complex delivery frameworks and the ability to operate confidently in a high-stakes regulatory and financial environment. As the Project Manager, you will engage with cross-functional senior stakeholders, drive progress, maintain clear reporting, escalate issues where required, mitigate risks and support effective change management. DUTIES Your duties as the Project Manager will include: • Project Delivery: Manage large-scale, priority projects that support strategic priorities and organisational change • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders, subject matter experts, project teams and external partners • Project Planning: Produce clear project plans, delivery timescales, milestones, outputs and action trackers • Governance and Reporting: Report to appropriate governance forums and provide clear visibility of progress, risks, issues and decisions • Risk and Issue Management: Identify, record, manage and escalate project risks and issues where required • Business Change Framework: Follow the organisation’s Business Change Framework methodology and established ways of working • Meetings and Administration: Administer and manage project processes, service project meetings and associated documentation • Costs and Benefits: Record and track project costs and benefits, supporting Finance Business Partners with budget monitoring • Change Management: Support effective change management, continuous improvement and the successful delivery of outcomes • Compliance and Standards: Follow required organisational and supplier processes, policies and governance requirements CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS • Substantial Project Management experience with evidence of successful delivery • Trained in PRINCE II and / or equivalent project management methodology • Knowledge of local government and particularly transformational Government and efficiency agenda • Relevant change management qualification or skills and experience (Prosci or similar) • Experience of using Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, MS Project, MS Visio, PowerPoint BENEFITS • 31 days annual leave, rising by 5 days after 5 years of continued local government service, plus bank holidays • Local Government Pension Scheme • GP Helpline available 7 days a week • Employee Assistance Programme, including a 24/7 Your Care Helpline • Free eye tests and flu vaccines • Free onsite gym located at Shute End Offices, Wokingham • Salary sacrifice schemes, including car and Cycle to Work schemes • Local and lifestyle discounts on shopping, entertainment, dining out and more • Move through Menopause course • Sports and social group activities including running, football, cricket and more • Learning and development opportunities • Employee networks And much more!
