Working within the engineering team, the Project Engineering Manager will lead bespoke developments, coordinate design and delivery, and support high standards of quality, reliability and cost control. The Project Engineering Manager will guide Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and Project Managers while acting as a senior technical contact for customers. Based in the Peak District, the Project Engineering Manager will also drive innovation and continuous improvement across engineering procedures and services. DUTIES Your duties as the Project Engineering Manager include: End-to-End Project Delivery: Lead custom furnace projects from concept and design through manufacture, testing and commissioning, ensuring products are fit for purpose, functional, cost-effective and high quality Project Management and Risk: Manage concurrent custom builds, identifying and mitigating technical, financial and schedule-related risks to keep delivery on track Engineering Leadership: Mentor, guide and lead Mechanical and Electrical Engineers and Project Managers, supporting continuous professional development Customer Technical Support: Act as a senior technical contact for global customers across academia and industry, translating bespoke requirements into robust engineering solutions Quality and Reliability: Hold engineering teams accountable for designs and products that meet high quality and reliability standards Innovation and Improvement: Drive innovation and continuous improvement across engineering processes, procedures and services, keeping customer needs central CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field Previous embedded software and firmware development experience Proficiency in C#, C++ and C Understanding of database design and SQL Familiarity with real-time operating systems, low-level hardware interaction and Linux-based operating systems Experience with version control systems such as Git Strong problem-solving and debugging skills using tools such as oscilloscopes and debuggers Ability to read and understand electronic schematics and datasheets Good communication and teamwork skills Assembly language experience is desirable BENEFITS Company Incentive Scheme Flexi-Time Scheme Salary sacrifice pension plan with 7.5% employer contributions and death in service policy 28 days annual leave plus a company extra day and statutory days Westfield Health Scheme membership and Hospital Treatment Plan Cycle to work salary sacrifice scheme Competitive Employee Referral Award Scheme Sports and social events Free on-site parking Employee assistance programme Free lunch on site every other week Free fresh fruit Convenient location next to Hope train station and on a regular bus route to and from Sheffield HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
