Production Operative An excellent opportunity for a hands-on Production Operative with manufacturing, assembly, and hand tool experience to help manufacture and assemble uPVC window shutters to customer specifications and works orders, operating machinery, assembling components and carrying out quality inspections before despatch. Shift Allowance) + Benefits LOCATION: Hyde, Greater Manchester, North West England (SK14) JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent WORKING HOURS: 36 hours per week – 06:00-13:30/13:30-21:00, Monday to Thursday and 06:00-12:00/12:00-18:00 Friday. 30-minute paid Lunch Break JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Production Operative with previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment. As a Production Operative you will manufacture and assemble uPVC window shutters to customer specifications and works orders, using machinery, hand-held tools and quality control checks. Working as the Production Operative you will operate equipment including CNC drilling machines, mitre saws, drills and wrapping machinery, while helping maintain safe, accurate and efficient production standards. DUTIES Your duties as the Production Operative include: • Shutter Manufacturing: Manufacture shutters accurately to the dimensions and specifications detailed on works orders • Component Assembly: Assemble shutter components including frames, louvers, panels and complete shutter units • Machine Operation: Operate equipment including CNC drilling machines, double-headed mitre saws, single-bladed saws, pedestal drills and hand-held tools • Measurement and Cutting: Measure, cut, verify and double-check components to ensure accuracy and specification compliance • Quality Inspection: Carry out quality checks throughout the manufacturing process to minimise errors and maintain product standards • Product Configuration: Check product identification, colour consistency, hinge positions, opening directions and rail placements • Cleaning and Packaging: Clean, inspect, package and prepare finished shutters securely for despatch • Health and Safety: Follow company health and safety procedures, wear required PPE and maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment • Production Support: Support other departments within the factory when required to meet business needs CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS • Previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment • Experience carrying out assembly work using hand-held tools and equipment • Good levels of numeracy and literacy • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment • Good organisational skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions • Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement • Able to carry out manual handling and lifting duties during the working day • Willing to wear safety footwear and any other required PPE at all times BENEFITS • Auto enrolled into Stakeholder Pension Scheme with 4% employer contribution • 28 days holiday including statutory, rising by one day after one completed year of service • Life Assurance covering your annual salary • Subsidised canteen offering freshly cooked meals and sandwiches every day • Free car parking • Access to Employee Assistance Programme, offering counselling support, legal guidance and medical advice from qualified nurses, for you and your immediate family • Discounted Gym Membership • Discounted Blinds and Shutters, upon successful completion of your Probationary Period • Free Flu Jab voucher every Autumn • Christmas Savings Scheme HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
